SFH Consultants is a specialist town planning and resource management consultancy based in Orewa, Auckland. We assist property owners, developers, businesses and community organisations with site reviews, resource consents, subdivisions, coastal permits, plan changes and expert planning evidence.
Our approach is practical and focused. We identify the planning matters most likely to affect a proposal, explain them clearly and work with clients and project teams to develop an appropriate consenting strategy.

Our Team
Stephen F. Havill - Founder
Stephen brings extensive planning experience from public- and private-sector roles in New Zealand and internationally. His career has included work with Milton Keynes Development Corporation, Auckland City Council, the Auckland Harbour Board, and private development and construction companies in New Zealand and Australia.
Stephen has been a member of the Planning Institute since 1970 and has a long track record of obtaining planning approvals for projects throughout New Zealand.
Daniel Shaw - Director
Daniel joined SFH Consultants in 2010 and works across residential, commercial, industrial, community and rural planning matters. His experience includes apartments, retail development, subdivision, rural development, plan changes and work for submitters.
Daniel holds a Master of Resource and Environmental Planning from Massey University, completed in 2015, and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Fitness Management from Lamar University in Texas.
